Investigative Image Management System

Motorola's Imagetrak is a powerful photo imaging application that allows law enforcement agencies to capture, store, organize and manage images and descriptor data that are essential for investigation and identification services. A digital image is taken, stored and searched in real time, allowing pictures of poor quality to be readily identified and easily retaken. The images, of mugshots, scars, marks and tattoos, are stored in a database with demographic information including a person's physical characteristics and charge information. There is no film involved, which eliminates the costs associated with the purchase and processing of film. With Imagetrak's digital capabilities, the list of potential suspects can be significantly narrowed with electronic search filters, rather than depending on a witness to look through thousands of photographs. Imagetrak also helps investigators by creating digital lineups much faster than a live lineup, while the witness still has a clear visual memory of the suspect
